An exclusive vocal is licensed to one producer and removed from the HitVocals marketplace. Nobody else can license that performance to build their own release, and it has never been released before, so the topline you put out is not one a listener has already heard on somebody else’s record.
That matters most when you are putting real time and money into a track. Finding the vocal, building the production around it and then hearing the same performance on a competing release is a risk a non-exclusive licence carries by design. An exclusive licence removes it: the performance is yours to build the record around.
It is also more than insurance against duplication. A singer’s tone, phrasing and delivery become part of what the record is, and those are difficult to manufacture and harder still for another producer to copy.
